Hard to Believe this Movie is Over 30 Years Old [Spoiler]

At the time it came out, it was groundbreaking because nobody talked about teen suicide.

It does look cheesy today, mostly because of the 80's clothes styles, but the message of the awful effects of suicide are still valid today. My young 26 year old cousin had suffered from depression and anxiety for 10 years, trying different medications, reading and believing the Bible but the physical feelings of aloneness and worthlessness never left him. He shot himself in an empty field.

My one caveat for the movie would be the casting of actors as good looking as Zach and Molly because most people are not that attractive but they are still valuable worthwhile human beings in the eyes of God and their loved ones.
