Always wondered what happened to Gib and Alison

There are only a handful of films where I always wondered what happened to the characters after the film ended. I guess that is part of the magic of movies... especially good ones. And for me I always wondered what happened to the characters of Gib and Alison in The Sure Thing. So without getting goofy (i.e. Gib ran off to Hollywood and changed his name to John Cusack and became a movie star), what do you think happened to them?

My bet is that they dated for a year or two but ultimately broke up sometime in their junior year. They remained friendly - since they would share a lot of the same friends - but ultimately went their own way after college. Especially since the Internet wasn't around. Both ended up meeting other people, doing well professionally, and reconnected many years later on Facebook.
