It always made me laugh
that we are supposed to believe that cusack cant get any action yet his fat roommate is making out like a rabbit. Also made me laugh that the message seems to be that you cant have love AND sex. Its one or the other.

Chicks like her have to fend off CONSTANT male attention--she would never, ever have just blankly waited for him or allowed herself to be promised. I happen to love this movie but the relationship between the two main characters is what makes it great--the Sheridan aspect is complete BS. It's painfully obvious a geeky wrote it (i.e., it's a male fantasy).

I'm glad someone else thought it was a sloppy ending. The sloppiest part of the ending for me was how the final scene was set up in a way in which we should get some satisfaction of seeing and hearing the reaction of the classroom when Gib and Alison kiss. Classmates were berating him about how he blew it with the sure thing, so part of the payoff for us was to see them eat their words -- for least five seconds or so -- when the class saw why he "blew it." The background fading to a nighttime sky, instead, when they did kiss was distracting, then the credits rolled.
It's a shame because most of the movie before that was good enough.
When they kissed, they were up on the roof, by themselves.

shareHe was a coward, and even if Gib had not got onto the vehicle Alison might have been able to fight him off or discourage him. I think he was disconcerted by Gib being in the vehicle, never mind the pseudo-psycho behaviour which was not too convincing. The pick-up guy was a potential rapist but hardly the committed type like Trejo in Con Air.

Also was alison supposed to be a virgin. She acted like she was. She acted so uptight but she was the one spending nights alone with her boyfriend

Always made me laugh that we are supposed to believe that gib turned down sex with the sure thing. Give me a break. Although there is no evidence to support this i always believed that gib did have sex with sheridan but then lied to alison about it. I mean why not? Its what i would have done to win back alison at the end.
