Her name was Lois Hamilton. Her character's name in the movie was Vicki Sanders. She killed herself in 1999.

Well if you have to slow it down to see it, then why should it be rated anything other than PG? Back in the 80s, the VCRs weren't very good with the pause or slow motion feature, so the censors probably never thought of that being an issue.

Back in the 1980s, the "moral majority" hadn't fully taken shape yet. Movies and TV shows were able to get away with more inuendo (which in turn made them more entertaining).

Things have changed now unfortunately (in my opinion). There are now only a handful of shows that choose to toe the line (Fox's Family Guy being one of them). Nobody can complain about that show though because it warns the viewers beforehand that its for mature audiences only.

If parents aren't capable of monitoring their child's viewing habits or if the kids themselves are too impressionable to watch shows like that, then you can't blame the industry since it serves everybody and not just the easily corrupted.

Its hard to compare movies from the 1980s to movies to today and not get mixed up with how things were different back then. Summer Rental can now be seen as a bit raunchy, but back in the mid-80s, it was pretty standard fare.

You must be kidding, Scoot... Entertainment in general is MUCH more vulgar now than when it was in the 80s. Sure, there are movies that got a PG rating then that would probably garner a PG-13 or maybe even an R rating now, but by and large both TV and movies have gotten much more vulgar. I don't know what your point about the "'moral majority'" has to do with the content on TV and in movies today.

You are right on the mark when you talk about the slow mo thing though. I just remember watching Summer Rental on TBS back in the day wishing I could actually see something lol

Just because a movie shows quick nudity, doesn't mean it can't be rated PG. Look at the 1981 movie Under the Rainbow with Chevy Chase and Carrie Fisher, which is also rated PG. There is a scene where all of the midgets run through the womens showers and there is some brief nudity there.

In The Rescuers there's a topless live action shot that one of the animators snuck in. http://www.snopes.com/disney/films/rescuers.asp
