DVD on Netflix

We just watchedt this movie tonight--I remembered watching it as a teen in 85, and my son LOVES Lucy (like who doesn't?)--and he was so moved by the film. While there are a few (very few) corny TV things about it, Lucy is phenomenal, and while the plight of the homeless is more disgusting and horrific than portrayed here, they did a very good job of getting many things right. A great film for young adults and kids--both to show them a bit of the "inside" of homelessness (but not as graffic)and, I guess, to show them another side of Lucy that they will appreciate, if they are already fans.

On that last note--we had him watch one of her earliest movies, in which she shines, first, Stage Door. These are both great films for people who only know I Love Lucy to see.

I agree, it's a great movie for kids and young adults because it's not too graphic, but it still pretty accurately shows the life of a homeless person, in a touching way. It was great!

I haven't seen Stage Door, but I'll have to check it out, because I love to watch anything with Lucy in it!

Stage Door is one of my favorites! Katherine Hepburn, Ginger Rogers, Eve Arden, Lucy, Andrea Leeds, Ann Miller and a great, emotional script. Love it!
