Accents

All the russian people speaking in this movie had an british/american accent... except for the people dancing around in the white suits.... Did anyone else notice that?

Cold hard bitch
Just a kiss on the lips
And I was on my knees

Yes, the soldiers in the snowsuits were Russian. Their Russian was, naturally correct. Surprisingly, just about all the Russian in the film was accurate and pronounced propery, including Ackroyd's. I find it funny that such a goofy film took the time to make sure the Russian was accurate, while so many serious cold war movies don't. (watch The Hunt for Red October with someone that knows Russian sometime. They couldn't be bothered with calling any of the countless linguists, scholars, or native speakers and get an accurate translation for the subtitles we see.)

The proper Russian accents was just a side-effect of the fact they used Russian actors in those parts maybe. Svetlana Plotnikova, Seva Novgorodsev, Garrick Dombrovsky, etc...
