After Chevy Chase has been captured and is being interrogated by the Russians, he claims that he was just "looking for the Burt Reynolds cedar". This reference is a little too obscure for me.

Someone on Yahoo! Answers said it was a tree where Burt Reynolds could urinate. That didn't really clear things up. Can anyone explain the meaning/origin?

Just FYI, the former Burt Reynolds Theater has been renovated and now operates, after a couple of name changes, as the Maltz Jupiter Theater in the same Palm Beach County location.

It now occurs to me that Bob Hope's cameo appearance evokes another random connection to Palm Beach area with the film.

Eeek!!! I'm getting dressed.
