So glad Eppie's father didn't get her

In this day and age when children are torn from their adopted families, I loved seeing this girl tell her biological father that she wanted to stay with Silas. Silas was her real father-the other guy was just the man who engendered her. He threw away any rights when he threw her away-not the way it would happen today but it was a great moment when the man had to realize Silas was the one Eppie would be staying with. This was a story that really did show society acting in the best interest of the child and I loved it.
