WTF is with all the negative topics on this board!?

It seems to really filth this board up, it's full of dumb brats who have only watched blockbusters and want to come here to just slack off this classic cause they watched that Denzel Washington movie.

This film is epic. I love Tarkovskiy (oh who is he?) and even tho it's an "action" movie it represents so much what he stood for.

Whatever.

The acting and dialogue are terrible. Have you tried watching it recently? I'm guessing you saw it when it came out. It hasn't aged well at all.

Watching it now for the first time. Holds up just fine.

I think negativity comes when people are made to feel uncomfortable. This is a VERY uncomfortable movie. One must stay with it and ride it all the way to the end of the line. There's no character to relate to, no hero. Even the female lead isn't really a female in the cinematic sense. And the only real female is a ditzy and unsympathetic bimbo. Even the authority figures are substandard nonentities. The movie is a blunt, blatant affront to everything "Leave It To Beaver," and it was portrayed by characters who could have only been played by Eddy Haskell and Lumpy.

Remember the 'bell' curve...
You have to high opinion of most people..
It is what it is.....

I've seen it for the first time last night. Pretty damn good. Not only for a Cannon Film, but in general.

Hey, it's Enrico Pallazzo!

It's a Cannon film. These flicks have a special place in my heart. A lot of them are bad schlock fun. But this one was one of the good ones that slipped through.

Tarkovsky has nothing to do with "Runaway Train."

It just doesn't connect with a lot of people. My opinion is that it is vastly underrated. I think it's a fantastic film. One of the best of the 80s.

It doesn't have a ton of blood, nor a ton of gun action. Without those, most action fans don't see it as action, so they hate it. I also think that many action fans who were looking for such didn't understand the underlying themes.

Why aren't cookies called bakies?

Agreed, one of my all-time favourites.
