Didn't like this very much when it came out in 85

But now I love it. I was 12 and was more into Transformers & Star Wars stuff to really think that this was awesome. I remember watching it and thinking "yeah it's pretty cool, at least it's better then the original movie" but it didn't appeal to me much at that age. My younger sister loved it and would watch it all the time once we got it on video. It wasn't until the late 90's where I really stated to watch it again and appreciate it more. It's so cool to me today and I'm sure a bit of nostalgia has to do with it since it does remind me of being 12 and watching it then.

I have a swimming pool filter that's shaped like Tik-Tok so I can't help but think about this movie when I see it. I'll actually say out loud "Pick me up" over and over lol my kids laugh at me. When ever I see something that's emerald green I'll put my hand on it and say "Oz". The Wheelers were so cool to me I always wanted to make a costume for Halloween so I could roll around the neighborhood like they did yelling "Behave". Love the stop motion of the Nomes, I was a big fan of Ray Harryhausen and all his Sinbad, Clash of the Titans & Jason & the Argonauts movies so when I saw this as a kid I remember thinking how cool that was at least.

People think I'm crazy but if I had a choice of watching Return to Oz & The Wizard of Oz 10 times I'd watch Return to Oz 9 out of 10 times. I think it's so much cooler then the original. The original is a classic but lame in comparison to me today.
