Why No Sequel?
It seemed that this movie was built as part of a planned franchise, what is the story of why they didn't do a sequel?
shareThe film was supposed to be a series, it's based on a whole series of books. It didn't have the box office though. There was an unsuccessful television pilot also made.
As of a few years ago there was talk a reboot and it may happen because of the popularity of superhero flicks. (The books are far wilder with killer cyborgs and vampires)
I think the technology is finally there where they could do the books justice.
A series would be great if they roughly followed the books and progressed him from basically learning suped-up Judo to becoming a full blown Master of Sinanju. The books were a lot more violent than this movie portrayed and the running commentary on political correctness run amok was notably absent.
I still love it though. :)
