No. Why would we need it remade? Perfect just as it is.
shareIt's dated, the acting isn't exactly oscar worthy and it could use a modern remake to reintroduce it to audiences who don't watch 30+ year old foreign films...
Plus we know so much more about Quantum/sub atomic particles etc... it could ad another angle to the film.

Maybe make it more like the original novel. The novel and this film are strikingly different. Apart from that, I can't think of any other reason for a remake.
This film doesn't need a remake; it's fine the way it is.
