Art Direction

Overall, I love it...seems to suggest the 40s-80s, by turns.

yes and many scenes stay in memory for being so full of life. The wedding scene with subtle rendition of Ave Maria comes to mind. So real and well done. Overall, great art work.

I agree. I have always thought that both the cinematography and the art direction, especially the cinematography reminds me of the type of film from the 1940s. And the fact that Prizzi's Honor was directed by John Huston also helps to put me in that state of mind. I mean, think that if this film had been made in the forty's by John Huston, he probably would have cast Bogart and Bacall in the lead roles.Kathleen Turner has always been compared to Lauren Bacall anyway. I absolutely love the cinematography because it has a very sultry look to it and the color does not look overly bright. And some scenes have sort of an over heated look to them.
