What was the name of the Old Ninja Master who was in the temple. And why did he fight Sho's character Akira (who was like a son to him)?
shareHis name was never given, and he fought Akira to test him, to see if he had been able to conquer his "demons of the past", ie. killing his brother by accident earlier in the movie. Saito would have beaten his master had he had a clear mind.
shareThat's a good explanations. I always looked at that scene as kind of a stereotype that martial art masters always sneak up on each other and start fights for no reason, kind of like Inspector Cleusau and Kato LOL
