What happend to Julie Brown's role?

Hi! I was watching some old episodes of MTV's 'Just say Julie' starring the multi-talented comedianne Julie Brown, when I decided to take a look at her resume to see whatever else she's done and was surprised to see that she was in Police Academy Part 2 - as I did not remember her actually being in in, which is odd since I had the movie in my collection and had seen it recently.

My suspicions were confirmed as I viewed the film to see that she was hardly in it despite her name being featured very prominently in the cast listings? Now, I know my copy is censored (I live in Asia - and certain movie companies - in order to maximize profit - censor the movies they sell on CD and DVD to ensure 'all ages' audience for their product) but I did see an 'uncut' copy of the movie some time back and can only recall some coarse language being cut. The reason I am writing this post is because :

a) It's VERY unusual for someone to be listed so high up in the cast and not have a prominent role. I know that certain old forgotten 'B' flicks like to promote famous stars in the cast who at the time were unknowns on their cover box art to generate interest, but come on, she's not Julia Roberts and Police Academy is a quite famous enough franchise on it's own - why is her part so horribly cut? Can anyone fill me in?

b) It's obvious she was the love interest of Office Mahoney (Steve Guttenberg) in the movie - the version I have has him in a shop and the scene is cut as soon as he walks up to her - she's standing next to him in a later scene as well, so my question is: Is there an alternate cut where her part is bigger? I mean, the version I saw has her with absolutely NO dialogue and barely five minutes of screen time! What's the scoop? Can anyone help me out?!!

Wasn't she one of the gang members? When Mahoney is in the hideout and commenting about the place, he passes by a big woman who grabs him and Mojo says it is okay he's with them. Mahoney then jokingly says, "Where you been all my life?" She responds, "Don't get fresh," starts to let him go, then pulls him back and says, "Maybe later." I thought that was her.

No, she was the girl taking Mahoney's measurement for his new uniform in the beginning of the movie.

Just watched the movie again for the first time in years and noticed the same thing. She's also one of the bridesmaid's in the wedding at the end, so it seems like she did have a much bigger role and it was cut for time. It's a shame Warners didn't include any deleted scenes on the DVDs.

Yeah, I just rewatched this one today, and right before I was thinking, "Who's Mahoney's love interest in this one?" I couldn't think of anyone, so I just figured Tackleberry got the love interest this time. It's a shame. Julie Brown is so funny. Earth Girls Are Easy is one of my favorites.

Before the movie came out there was a still picture in a magazine featuring Steve Guttenberg and Julie Brown in a ferris wheel, obviously on a date. When I saw the picture in a theater I remember spotting the ferris wheel but Steve and Julie's part was cut out.

@Chip_douglas The plot thickens! I guess having both Tackleberry and Mahoney with romantic subplots was a bit much, so they cut out Mahoney's scenes.

If anyone's interested, there's a complete PA 2 film script up on eBay at the moment, with all uncut scenes, including Julie Brown's, as originally scripted. Be warned, however. The seller is charging an arm and a leg for it.
