Halloween/Halloween 2 Connection

In the first 2 Halloween movies, there is a character called Bennett Tramer (who shares a name with the writer of Poison Ivy). I think he's the one who gets rammed by a squad car in H2 and burns after being mistaken for Michael Myers.

Also, during one of the scenes where the Blue team is discussing candidates for Colour War, they mention two campers: Tommy Wallace and Jack Carpenter (Jack being a nickname for John). Tommy Wallace is a longtime collaborator of John Carpenter's and directed Halloween 3.

Anyone else notice this connection?

I checked Tramer's imdb and there doesn't seem to be a logical link to the Carpenter "world".
