30th Anniversary

This movie premiered on NBC on Sunday night, February 10, 1985, and this Tuesday will have its 30th anniversary. I don't actually remember when it premiered and did not watch it that night (I was nearly 17 and in 11th grade), but I do remember watching it later in the 1980s on TV when it came back on in syndication and taped one of these showings in the late 1980s on our VCR. I then watched this tape several times in the first half of the 1990s and it became one of my favorite movies of all time, I really liked it. I then became homeless after our move in 1997 until 2010 and had no way to watch it, but then got an apartment and TV and DVD player in late 2010 and brought a lot of movies on DVD, and wanted to buy this one, but could not find it anywhere. I then joined Netflix in March, 2013 and wanted to rent it from there, but Netflix had no listing of it at all. But I recently got on amazon.com to buy a movie, and I may try to get it from there. But I did want to acknowledge its 30th anniversary.

I was 15 in 1985, and I could've watched it back then, but don't recall. It was a nice time, no cell phones, no internet, no cancel culture, just a fun time.
