Theme tune...

Every time I try and think of the theme tune to the X-Men animated series I always get halfway through and realise its turned into the Perry Mason theme. Anybody else hear a similarity? I'm not saying they're exactly the same but I do get the basic tunes mixed up.

I never made that connection.

But I do want to talk about the theme.

When I first saw Perry Mason Returns, which was when it aired, it was a deeply, powerful emotional experience for me when they played the theme and the slow panning of the court room. I wonder if anyone else, who could remember watching the original series when it aired, experienced that?

But I also have to say that I prefer the original arrangement over the 80s one.

"Is it bright where you are? Have the people changed? Does it make you happy you're so strange?"

I agree with you about the nostalgia induced theme song for the Perry Mason shows. My preference, however, is for the later episodes. My parents watched the original series every Saturday night and I remember being able to watch with them. I was glad to see the character resurrected and to have Barbara Hale back as well was a special treat.
