Travolta was smashed in real life during the Sally party scene

accordian to a friend of mine who worked on this movie (yes, i did say ACCORDIAN), john travolta was so wrecked during the sally birthday party scene that he showed up 2 hours late, and then literally fell out of his limo... the door opened and, accordian to my friend, he didnt stumble out, he literally fell out of the car... marilu henner (sally) chewed him out for it, big time... they had to revive him and if you watch this scene, he really looks horrific... he was on a certain, um... powder during this time...

this is all true by the way...

That's funny. I didn't think he looked drunk at all at Sally's party. However, I thought he looked totally wrecked when he got off the plane from Morocco, and was trying to track down Jessie. When he's looking for her by the pool at the Beverly Hills Sports Connection, he nearly knocks down a bunch of people, knocks their drinks out of their hands, etc. Are you sure your friend got the correct scene?

reply

hahahaha.

well, im sure he was smashed during the whole movie. but yeah, Doug Campbell is even in the credits as PARTY PRO, check it out. he's the sales manager for where i work. the thing of it is, Doug was a golf pro (which is why his credit is PARTY PRO) and let the producer of this movie play free golf so for extra dough he did extra ("background artist") work, but i cannot find Doug in this film in the party scene (i think only his voice can be heard), but that's the scene where they had to literally revive Travolta from a zombie state from when he came crashing outta his limo. im sure it happened other times as well, like the morocco scenes.

Wow, that's really interesting. I'll have to watch it again this weekend much, much closer, looking for the signs. Thanks!

Where was the movie filmed? Where was the Sports Connection? Somewhere in LA/Hollywood? I think the one scene where Jamie Lee runs out of court and down the street was filmed in Pasadena, CA...

That explains a lot--i thought he looked wiped.
