Watched this for the first time and finished it moments ago. Tim Burton certainly makes interesting films.
Pee-wee is an interesting character. Just when you think the film might get really awkward, or Pee-wee might be in big trouble, it finds a way in a funny way.
It is definitely funny, and there's no real cringe, despite Pee-wee Herman being an odd character.
I'm glad I watched it.

shareI watched it again post-Paul's passing & I have to say there are so many great scenes from this movie that I posted in this chat in the last couple of days. I was 12 years old when the movie was released and hadn't watched it in recent years even though I owned a copy at home. Sometimes it takes the death of someone to spur you to revisit old songs or films.
