Is it just me or was Tina (the Alamo tour guide) a total b-tch?

I've hated it when she just laughs at Pee Wee after she tells him there is no basement at the Alamo along with everyone else, I can't help but feel embarrassed and sorry for Pee Wee at that scene.

Well, that was the point!!

But really, tour guides have to do the same shtick day in and day out for God knows how long. I'm sure doing the same script and answering the same (often dumb) questions must be a drag. Pee Wee's question however was the first time Tina ever heard someone asking about the Alamo's basement.

You could just feel the embarrassment as he tried to slink away.

Not to mention that someone took a photo of Pee Wee getting embarrassed just prior to him running away, I've felt so bad for Pee Wee during that scene, this scene makes me not wanna go to the Alamo.

The Alamo is a great part of our history, worth the trip. Just remember not to mention the basement...

Also how would have Pee Wee reacted if there was a basement at the Alamo only to find out that his bike wasn't there?

reply

Yeah, I agree with you. When Pee-Wee runs away as everyone laughs, the scene felt too real, like he was a real kid getting bullied to tears.

I get why they had everyone laugh. They wanted to drill the notion that the fortune teller scammed Pee-Wee, telling him about a basement that didn't exist at the Alamo. I think the scene had un-intended effects
