Loved the scenery and the story of a brave woman, but...

I loved the story and the cinematography. It was absolutely stunning. But Denys George Finch-Hatton was a cad.

I like much better the idea of her with Berkeley Cole, who the movie seems to hint was interested in her earlier on, too.

He changed at the end. Or did you not notice that? I'm not so sure about the real Denys though. I think he may have died set in his ways. And she couldn't have ended up with Berkley. That's not the way life worked out for her.

Better than the stunning cinematography was the stunning Robert Redford.

Yes, he offered her help (in the form of financial assistance), but if you will notice, she says "... so you would keep me then." and when he says nothing, she goes on "I want to be worth something now." and rejects the offer. She wanted some sort of commitment on his part, not financial assistance.
