As much as I like remakes they can cast The Muppets for all I care, as I will avoid it like the plague. Did you know Miss Piggy does great accents?

shareOh you have got to be kidding. I have heard of a lot of remakes in the works lately and I just don't get it. I suppose all creative thinking is gone in Hollywood. Seriously though, tons and tons of books out there that could be made into respectable movies.
I suppose hanging on the skirt tails of past glory is the only thing they can do these days. But they fail so often when they try. The younger generation is just NOT going to go see these types of movies in droves, and is NOT going to love them the way the first generation that seen them did.
Unfortunately that ship has passed and todays generation has very little, if any appreciation for that type of film making. I mean even serious action films can't survive in today's world. Unless it's a comic book.lol

I'd be surprised if this is remade anytime soon, but, FWIW, classics such as Ben-Hur, The Maltese Falcon and The Wizard of Oz were all remakes.
