The best Venezuelan movie of all times?
I'm a Venezuelan living in Canada and today I found Oriana in a video store and rented it. I remember this movie in television when I was a kid and I was very surprised to find it here. Even more, I noticed that it won an award at the Cannes Festival in 1986.
Even though I try to watch as many Venezuelan movies as I can, I usually end up disappointed... not this time. This is a great movie! I loved the way the plot slowly reveals itself among all the mysteries of the hacienda and how it shows our traditions and culture without trying to be a folkloric piece. Even though some performances are not good, I think this can easily be the best Venezuelan movie of all times.
