The Smithsonian?

I was watching this on the El Rey Network and they had some snippets of an interview with Robert Englund. In the interview, he talks about how he was on the set of this movie and one-third of the crew was made up of fans of the original movie who were trying to steal props for their personal collections. Then, he says that he took it upon himself to protect the knife-glove by taking it home. He gave it to his agent to keep and protect and said that there are only two places that it should be, one is with his agent and the other is in the Smithsonian. I like the movie. I like the series, but I don't think the glove belongs in the Smithsonian.
