Sandy. Hottest girl ever.

Wow. I know that people tend to go overboard with the hyperbole on the internet, but geez louise. The girl who played Sandy is honestly the most attractive girl I've ever seen in a movie. I'm 26 years old, and I just fell absolutely in love with her and her character. I felt like a little kid sporting a crush on a movie screen hottie all over again.

Jonna Lee. Whatever happened to this girl?

reply

Absolutely!!! Mega hot with just the right amount of flirt. The girl is fierce--- Ready to take a meat cleaver to Mitch to get the ring and two handed bashing the substitute on the head with the flashlight. That's who I'd want with me and watching my back in a vampire/zombie/curse situation.

Freakosity is a very vast subject.

Yeah it was one thing when I was a kid watching this thing, just silly good fun. As I'm older its still all that but so much more with all the great performances across the board, especially Jonna Lee as Sandy. She's ridiculously appealing and endearing. Through the cheesy parts and "the dance number" because of her the Sandy/Phil story line hits me hard me every time I watch this.

I can't rip on you, nor dispute anything you said in your post. Jonna Lee was spectacular in this movie, and was absolutely beautiful when she made the film.

Also, I agree with balsho. The Sandy & Phil subplot really worked -- mostly because Jonna & Lee Montgomery had terrific chemistry. Their subplot could have come across as horribly cheesy, if not for that chemistry, and how both seemed to enjoy themselves in those roles. I never got the sense that either of them was just phoning it in, and always felt like they really clicked. Both Jonna & Lee seemed to play the roles earnestly, and I think that's why people still tend to remember the movie for the Phil & Sandy plot line over all else.

That and I'm sure there were more than a few young guys who fell for Sandy in this movie.

If you've heard of it, it's already too mainstream for me.

I just watched this for the first time and I agree. I really liked the Sandy & Phil part of the story. I actually felt a little sad when Sandy disappeared at the end because they made such a sweet couple.

yeah I kind of fell in love with her character as well. I guess I loved not only her looks but her perky personality and her joyfulness.
You just don't see characters like that anymore. she was so happy and jumpy and "full of life" ironically enough.

She is definitely gorgeous and the movie makes me feel sad at the end because of her

reply

Completely agree with you. I think she was my first real crush. I even had my sister record the movie so I could see her. For a long time I wouldn't watch the end of it though because I hated that she had to go back to being dead.

I Agree,She Reminded Me Of Olivia Newton John In Grease...Which Is Funny Because Her Name Was Sandy Too !

reply

I was just about to post the same thing when I saw your post. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of Sandy from Grease.

I actually think Jonna Lee might have taken inspiration from that character because they really do seem very similar.

Olivia Newton-John in Grease was actually one of my first major crushes and the Sandy here was just as sweet as the Sandy in Grease.
