Hocus Pocus?

Does anyone else feel like this film was influential on Hocus Pocus? I was born in 1990 and grew up watching "Hocus Pocus"; saw this film for the first time tonight and they really reminded me of each other— kids breaking into a museum, stirring up the living dead, trying to break the curse before midnight (or daybreak). Obviously they aren't identical as "Hocus Pocus" was hinged on the whole witches of Salem thing, but anyone else get similar vibes? I've heard that Disney actually owns "The Midnight Hour", so it would make even more sense if that were true.

That's exactly what I thought, I don't know how common 'local witch museum's are in movies and TV, I only know 3, this, Hocus Pocus and the Halloween witch episode of Scooby Doo, and since to me it is so rare, that's exactly what I thought of, this must've been an inspiration.
