Has Anyone Read 'In the Heat of the Summer'?

I know this place hardly gets any Activity, but:

I read the book a couple of months after watching the movie and the film is pretty faithful to John Katzenbach's novel (albeit with some changes, at least when concerned with the Numbers Killer, or whatever he's called, and the personality of Malcolm Anderson; He's a more sympathetic in the film than he is in the novel; In the book he's pretty passive, so to speak). But that aside, the Novel is Fantastic and incredibly creepy. It really pulled me in from start to finish.

Hehe, that's what I wondered, thanks. If my pile of books was not reaching the ceiling, I'd try the novel myself.
Is the "media responsability" theme better developped in the novel ? And does it have the end twist straight out of "Red dragon" ?
