I wasn't aware Rusty had 2 kids...
I believe only Rocky was portrayed in the film, but I read she had two children, Rocky, and another son, Joshua, who was gay and died of AIDS. Sadly, she outlived both of her kids.

I think the movie was only loosely based on his life. For example in the movie he graduated from high school with honors but in reality he died when he was 16 and wasn't an honor student.
