surprising fun

I was having insomnia at 4 AM this morning in a house with limited movie channels and settled on watching the last 2/3 of this movie. I was expecting from the title some piece of beach blanket trash, but it was much better than I thought it would be! It was so much fun that I enjoyed telling my husband about it at breakfast.
When I turned it on was when the girls were doing their bikini dance contest, which I thought it was hilarious; they are just sort of bouncing back and forth with their arms out waving around. And as one observer said here, the few scenes of breasts are all obviously natural and average.
The title sounded like one of those smarmy beach movies with lots of juvenile nudge-nudge double entendres and girls with shellacked hair whose most obvious asset is their boobs and boys whose "minds are on only one thing." Although this in a way seemed more amateurish than some of those slicker films, it actually had an engaging story that wasn't totally shallow after all, with believable characters who were really appealing, and it moved very quickly.
You'd never think from the title it would be so much good natured fun. It creates a place where you'd really like to hang out and have a good time with these basically nice, friendly, light hearted people.
