Half of Thunderdome is better than all of Fury Road.

Just thought I'd give this film some love since people are falling all over themselves heaping praise on Mad Max: Fury Road.

The first half of this movie was so imaginative, and George Miller did a better job of immersing the viewer in Bartertown, than The Citadel. Plus, there were unforgettable lines and Mad Max moments sprinkled in.

Master Blaster: "Do you want foot in face?"

Max: "Uh-uh."

Master Blaster: "Disarm."

I know, the second half:

Not much to add there that hasn't already been said, although I did learn that Max is the man who keeps Mr. Dead in his pocket.

Internet courage is such a yawn.

Nah.

You're certainly right about Barter Town vs Citadel. Miller missed a great opportunity to expand that world. You barely see any of it. Nor does he take us into "Gas Town" or "Bullet Farm." Totally meaningless to have even "created" them when they're only mentioned in quick passing.

This movie is a horrible piece of crap that should have been put in a vault somewhere for nobody to see, right next to The Day The Clown Cried. Though, The Day The Clown Cried would probably make for a way more entertaining movie going experience

You're right- and the OP is right about Beyond Thunderdome being better than the piece of crap you're referring to.
You are talking about the stench that is Fury Road, right?

reply

It sure is.

reply

lol are you somehow retarded OP? Fury Road is what Mad Max should have been all along..never seen such great and thrilling action movie in a theater before....it is an action masterpiece...this whole movie is for kids who likes star wars and no blood...but sure the first half is an ok start up for a Max movie, even without the gore and blood but still the whole movie is nowhere near Fury Roads caliber.

~If the realistic details fails, the movie fails~

What? A world where people survive fire tornadoes with ease, people don't burn while CGI fire is shown on them, an old woman gets a chainsaw to the neck and acts like she's only been nicked by a little knife, and contains mostly sped up Benny Hill style action with action so over choreographed that it looks like they might start doing a juggling act?

Mad Max should be raw and gritty like the first two not a cartoon.
