If enough people order this, maybe Warner Bros. will give Life and Adventures of Santa Claus the proper release it deserves, fully remastered, with better packaging and maybe good extra features. I would definitely buy it again if they did that.

Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! for this post. I was looking for this on dvd, and had somehow missed it. I don't care if it's DVD-R, my VCR is dieing and I don't want to lose the ability to watch this special when it dies completely.

I ordered it yesterday. My VHS home-taped copy has seen better days.

This was such a lame marketing move by Warner. Their Archive series only uses DVD-R, a cheaper format that the studio charges a higher price for than regular DVD. In addition, NESTOR had already been included on two previous DVD releases, while two other Rankin & Bass AniMagic specials, THE FIRST CHRISTMAS (aka THE FIRST CHRISTMAS SNOW) and LITTLE DRUMMER BOY BOOK II, have yet to get any DVD release. Warner could have at least included those, rather than triple-dip NESTOR. (DRUMMER BOY II was supposed to have been part of a multi-title set, but Warner replaced it with PINOCCHIO'S CHRISTMAS at the last minute...yet the promo trailer for the set is included in that set and still touts the missing DRUMMER BOY sequel as part of the line-up.)
