I liked that climactic finale when she's staring at the burning statue of herself and everyone around her realized the products regarding her image were being distributed by a money-hunger-man wanting to cash in on her fame. They then start tossing the Billie Jean merchandise into the bonfire too. That really made a statement.

Yes, one cannot argue that this movie is terribly clever, but that ending was actually quite smart. The way her statue was being burnt as Joan of Arc, the female hero she was trying to emulate - that was an interesting connection.
