as for the lead role... the only female nowadays i can think of who would do well in that role is the chick who plays "maggie" on THE WALKING DEAD.

For example, Billie Jean's video about setting the record straight would be uploaded on YouTube instead of shot on videotape and various copies mailed to assorted television stations. The YouTube video would probably get over a million hits an hour or so after it was posted. Moreover, the adult media would try to put a negative spin on the situation while sympathetic teenagers would rally to Billie Jean's side by creating a Facebook page or maybe even a group dedicated to Billie Jean on Facebook. Billie Jean could even keep people abreast of her progress while on the lam with regular posts on a Twitter account that naturally would attract millions of avid followers.

^I agree. That would be one of the few updated movies I would legitly watch. Have Billie Jean become the viral sensation not just in the USA like in the movie but around the world. It could be like a Ferguson style deal with angry teens in the street and all that and BJ getting freaked out over it. Plus add all the drama of the first one in and imagine how epic that would be?
It's too late for J Lawrence though :( (even though she might do it, slim chance but maybe,) but I'm sure there are some good choices though. Costner would be a good Ringwald, if not him get Kurt Russell or someone else of the 80's. Have Pyatt be either someone who plays Villains or get a guy or even woman who is known for their hero roles and change it up.
As for the scooter. Change it to a car or computer/cell phone. Who knows.
