Correct me if I'm wrong, but PLEASE answer me this!

I don't know if people bring this up elsewhere (where I live, almost nobody is aware that this mivie even exists). But I always thought that the "corrupted" version of Lili looked very similar to the character of the Sorceress from the videogame Final Fantasy VIII. I mean REALLY similar. The game came way after the movie (1985 vs 1999) so the Japanese must have copied its design. I wouldn't be the first time Japan takes inspiration from 80s american movies. I also always thought that Capcom totally ripped off several elements from the movie "Streets of Fire" (1984) for the game "Final Fight" (1989).

Anyway, I don't have a clue if this view is shared among fans of "Legend" or "Final Fantasy 8". Also I haven't seen the movie in several years nor played the game in almost a decade, so I could be mistaken. But the character's appearence is so similar and unique! It really looks like someone tried to imitate it.

Am I wrong? Or maybe a lot of people already agreed with this?

I'm from Argentina, BTW. When I tell anyone that the villan from "Legend" is Tim Curry, they think I'm talking about an Indian spice.

I'd say you're probably right. These kinda films have broad appeal and I wouldn't be suprised at all for their influence to show up in video games.

I'm from Argentina too and it's true, nobody knows it, at least not by name, but if you show them a pic of Darkness they'll most probably know the character and will remember to have seen the film as a kid.
