Holy *beep* - it's the Tin Drum boy!

I never knew he made it to Hollywood! But why is he still a child 8 years after the Tin Drum, is he a dwarf?

reply

No, David Bennent's adult size is short, 5 feet one inch or or 1.55 meters according to his biography in IMDB, but he is much too big to be classified as a dwarf.

According to Wikipedia he was 11 when in the Tin Drum and 19 in Legend. The trivia section in IMDB says he was about 18 in Legend.

Legend had a long and troubled production history so as near as I can find out the production stretched out from when he was about 16 to about 19 so his age in his scenes in Legend would have been somewhere in that range.

I once met a boy who looked like a cute 12-year-old child actor and said he was 16 - to the disbelief of one of my companions - and would have had to be at least 16 to legally work in that restaurant.

So as near as I can figure out David Bennent was physically a child while being chronologically and legally a man.

I think they also altered his voice to make it sound more high pitched, which would add to the misconception he was still a child when this was made.

The trivia on IMDb says they did change his voice, that his real voice was very deep. I like the changed voice it adds to the surreal nature of the character...but then again, it wouldve been equally awesome to hear a deep voice come from someone who looks like a little kid! xD

Honeythorn Gump is such a cool name for the king of the faeries.
