'You Did'

In most fantasy and scifi films when you hear an odd line, you can go back early in the film and understand the meaning. In Ladyhawke, there is a line that I have been trying to comprehend all these years. When Navarre and Marquet are fighting at the end in the cathedral, Navarre looks at Marquet for a second and says "You did" to watch Marquet gives a sheepish grin, and the sword fight continues. Anyone happen to know what Marquet "did" that Navarre was referring to?

reply

Actually, I think he says "You're dead."

reply

I thought he said "You're dead" too.

reply

He most certainly said "you're dead".
