Maybe not such a guilty pleasure

I think I saw this movie three or four times when it came out. It was not Oscar material, but it was a more fun to watch than Victor, Victoria (which it was compared to a lot for obvious reasons.)

Aside from "Where did you get those?" bit, my favorite was those two Trekkie geeks complaining about being forced to write a report on "Catcher in the Rye." I was already way past the mid-Eighties teens the movie was targeted at, so I caught the grownup irony someone had sneaked in: It was a widely banned book in the Fifties, which, of course, made it something any teenager with any pretensions of coolness would want to read, or at least want his friends to think he'd read.
