What was up with the alarm going off when Natty broke out of the orphanidge. It was like a high security prison!

It would have been the same thing as her breaking out of prison. It wasn't an orphanage. It was a girls' home. Sort of like another version of juvenile hall.

Um, havent' you noticed a pattern in this movie? All the kids are treated as rejects or criminals - depending on the area. Of course that was similar to a prison...
