Question about the DVD...

I just received my DVD copy about 2 weeks ago after having not seen this movie for almost 15 years or so. Now, I'm not really one to complain much--I mean, it is a great film and all--but does anybody else think like me, like when it came to releasing this film on DVD, Disney treated this film like a redheaded stepchild? The quality of this DVD seems rather low compared to other DVD's I've owned of less popular films. You would think that as popular as this film continues to be, they would do something more with the DVD. Bonus Material, maybe, or a foreign language track or...SOMETHING. And I've noticed that the picture on the DVD shakes a lot, like a film would. It's like as if lots and lots of people were asking Disney to release it to DVD and Disney just got tired of hearing it and just schlepped it out on a DVD in whatever condition and said, "Here. Here's your DVD."

Does anybody out there know anything about why the DVD of this particular film was done so poorly?

reply

This was the trend at the time it was released. Many of Disney's DVD's during this time period were full-screen, with no features. I'm still waiting for the widescreen version of "Baby - Secret of the Lost Legend", and of course, this film.
