Other Goofs

I recently viewed this film on YouTube, haven't seen it in a long time and was great to see it again. Not to nitpick or anything, but I noticed many other inconsistencies (many docudramas tend to have them, even though the producers and techincal advisers may not pay attention to ensuring historical accuracy or keeping things in chronological order):

1. When the Beatles performed at the Mid-South Coliseum in Memphis, they wore their Nehru jackets, not the grey suits from "A Hard Day's Night" (although they may have considered it then)

2. While peforming at the Toronto Rock Festival, John was attired in his trademark white suit and black T-shirt, not denim outfit. Also, he was playing his Epiphone Casino, not a Gretcsh Tenessean; to my knowledge, he never played one.

3. Did Julian visit them in 1979? According to People magazine, he last saw John after December 8, 1980...

4. Recording sessions for "Imagine" took place at John's Tittenhurst estate, not a recording studio in New York (although they did some final mixing there).

5. When Mark Chapman approached John at the Dakota, he crouched down in the shadows, did not walk up to him. It could have ended with the fans holding a vigil outside the Dakota, but this is just as powerful.

Even with the mistakes and whatnot, it's still an interesting and powerful film; there's a Region 4 DVD from the UK, should be one here in the US as well. Perhaps one day...

Regarding Julian, John was murdered on December 8, 1980 so that would have been the only day he would've seen him if he last saw him on December 8, 1980. My guess that was a typo. If so, correct it as I'd be interested in knowing the actual date. Good info - thanks.
