1/10 (could've been 0). Here's why:

THE JEWEL OF THE NILE director Lewis Teague completely missed the point. ROMANCING THE STONE was a throwback to old adventure pulp but, here, the way it was filmed and the music score... Well, he creates the tone for an action thriller. Look at the scene that takes place on top of the train. You can tell that it was written to be thrilling yet light and funny. The whole script was written on the same tone as the previous movie but, with a better director, it still wouldn't have been a great movie. The plot is basically more of the same and there was a missed an opportunity in regards to JACK & JOAN now being a couple. You see, it was fun seeing them argue in the 1st installment. Here, they could've been bickering like couples usually do but, instead, they have serious fights.

You can read comments of other movies (including the 1st installment) at http://vits-ingthemovies.blogspot.cl/2015/08/comments-round-up-july-2015.html

Any thoughts?

i think it's a good film. certainly better than most sequels. I like the fact that it shows them having problems after the happy ever after ending of the first film. And they work things out eventually.
