Gruesomely realistic murder depiction

For some reason, the horrific murder depicted in this telefilm sticks out in my
mind more than most such scenes that I have seen in motion pictures and tele-
vision over the years. In my opinion, this scene was one that was every bit
as violent and gruesome (or more so) as some that I have seen in "R" rated
theatrical films. If you ever want a depiction of mans inhumanity to man,
this scene (and the entire film) is it.

It was different than 'slasher movies' and all that... it was so SAD SAD SAD. It was the way real murder is - ugly, horrible and heartbreaking. I never forgot this movie.

I saw this as a kid with my parents on the couch. That stabbing scene has been burned into my brain ever since.

Mine too, John. I just felt an overwhelming sadness for that poor kid. His experience in the film is the stuff of worst nightmares. It's a very rarely shown movie in the States; but, in truth, I may never have to see it again because of that scene's imprint on my brain. However, I do wis hthat others could see it, because it's a very well made and tragic true story that deserves to be told.

The stabbing scene haunted my dreams for years after seeing this as a kid.
