Epically bad

Wow! One of the worst films I have ever seen. Amazingly pretentious drivel "about" America. This screenwriter probably thought he was being so smart when he fact he failed to actually write a story. I could go on and on about how bad this was. And, as usual, Theresa Russell proves she is one of the worst actresses of all time.

Interesting. I never could have thought anyone would consider this one of the worst movies ever. I thought the dialogue and acting were superb. Russell's voice annoyed me at first, but at some point during the movie it changed from pure annoyance to pure genius. I can't say whether Insignificance really had anything to SAY about America, or whether its intent was just to present a few themes related to America. I think I would have to watch it again. I was focused more on the four people dwelling on their importance. The conversations between the scientist and the baseball player were my favorite: How the scientist was humble, while the baseball player's fame was very valuable to him.

I might kind of see what you're saying about the story. Although the plot is one of the most interesting I've ever seen, there isn't as much character development as there could have been. It didn't seem like anything was resolved. But to me, that's one of this film's few flaws.

Although your post was written two years ago and you'll probably never come to this thread again, I'd love to hear you "go on and on about how bad this film was". It's not entirely that I don't believe that you could actually have something interesting / intelligent to say. It's mostly that, though.

you don't weatch a lot of films then. In no way was the acting bad. The Monroe character was supposed to be over the top. Go watch some more movies, or better yet, get a brain transplant and then we can talk.

Roeg is an absolute fantastic filmmaker. His editing approach is both unique and intriguing. I love this film. The title clearly plays into Stargazing.
