Man getting pulled in half

So is this the movie that features a man getty pulled in half right down the center? I read in SFX Horror Edition magazine that this very gory scene is in a movie titled Cut and Run.

"Did anyone notice that the image quality drops during the splitting scene on the Anchor Bay DVD?"

And if i remember correctly, i think the image is even 'squished' during that segment. It's too bad the film sucks overall - it's a pathetic attempt, considering it was supposedly Deodato's way of 'sating' fans of Cannibal Holocaust. Cut And Run hardly deserves to be mentioned in the same sentence.

LIES!

'Cut And Run' is a fantastically fun action-adventure movie, that was also a nice way to cap off Deodato's sexy Cannibal/jungle trilogy, what with each film being significantly different and such.

I heavily enjoyed 'Cut And Run' - and on topic, sexed the bloke being pulled in half scene, innim.

I think the reason the quality drops on the dvd during this scene is because this particular was a scene that was cut from the original film & had to be restored from the original negative. There are a few others like it in the film, & some other dvds have this particular look too during scenes that have been added back into the film. Two that I can think of with scenes like that right off the top of my head are Anchor Bay's release of "Silent Night, Deadly Night", & the Paramount/Lionsgate's release of "My Bloody Valentine" (1981). Both have scenes that had to be restored from negatives because they were cut from the film. Not all "restored scenes" look like *beep* but from time to time they do. Usually, though, as was the case with "Silent Night, Deadly Night", there will be a little caption come on the screen right before the film that tells you some of the scenes might not be as good of a quailty as the rest of the film.

I'm not sure why certain "deleted" scenes look better than others. I'm guessing it either has to do with the dvd distributor & how much work they actually feel like putting in to it, or the condition of the negatives. Or maybe a combination of both.
