SUBSTANCE DVD (CORRECT)

Make sure you have the Substance DVD. I saw this movie around 1992 on home video. Strange but hypnotic slasher film, I read somewhere that Richard Casey was a music video director. Anyway the other DVD that exists is completely rescored with bad 50's style horror score music, I have no idea if the company did this or they found a video release like this. The movie is supposed to have trashy rock music on it and that is part of it's strange charm. Anyway if you care about this movie at all I figured you'd appreciate this post.

This is the version I have. I am about an hour into the movie and have not herd any Trashy rock music besides maybe when a record player is used when the girl is locked in the house. It sounds more like 50s horror music, so I am guessing it is the incorrect one.

Aside from the possible music change in my black cover/TMG #64893 version in the beginning of the movie the woman drops a shard of glass, but it is not heard breaking.

Also at about an hour into the movie another girl is shaking what looks like a radio, but nothing is heard no plastic cracking or anything.

Richard Casey was a video director. He did some Blue Oyster cult stuff and some song where a guy jumps in a pool backwards and the world ends. YouTube it.

He is the greatest and he is also my dad.

Couldn't find it.

I'm not sure if I have the copy you're talking about. Mine is a pretty low quality dvd, and I'm not sure if the soundtrack is the original either, although I really like the music that is played in the movie (except for the shrieking violins during the murder scenes). In the version I have, they play some Dick Dale surfer music and the song Psychotic Reaction.
