Why was this film rated R?


Like most of the people here at the IMDB, I've only seen Hobgoblins on "Mystery Science Theater 3000". I could not sit through this film without Mike and the bots, but I know several here have. My question to those unfortunate souls is this: what was edited out of the film so it could run with a TVPG rating? Thank you.

I'm guessing it was rated R for nudity. An entry in the Goofs section refers to Amy's breasts during the scene in Club Scum...we obviously never see her breasts exposed in the MST version. I guess the striptease goes a bit farther in the "uncut" version. Probably some profanity as well, I would venture to guess.

The tattoo is visible in the MST3K version - that's what the goof is referring to. It's pretty far up her chest, so it's just barely part of her breast.

It was rated R because it can cause you permanent brain damage ...
