Dumbest part in the movie.

Okay, the movie itself is admittedly a massive gaff in logic.

But for me, the most unforgiveable part. The most inexplicably stupid bit in the movie is where Kevin puts his walkie talkie down in the middle of the floor... for no apparent reason. Why? At least within the context of the movie?

I realize for the sake of the movie that he has to NOT hear the older guards warnings to NOT open the vault. But wouldn't it make more sense to have like a cat shrieking outside startling him and make him drop the walkie Talkie and have it break on the floor? Or stumble on an electrical cord and drop it in a nearby mop bucket or aquarium, redering it useless? Then hear something from the vault and investigate.

But no, he simply places it neatly on the ground, upright, while the old man is talking to him.

Yes it's a stupid rubber critter wannabe movie. And yes, the rest of it isn't particularly sensible, either. But this instance goes beyond the pale. If the movie was a town composed of idiots, this moment would be the villiage idiot. It just looks too forced and contrived a way for Kevin to not receive the warning. It's like they're flat out saying "We're making him put down the walkie talkie on the floor precisely so he won't hear the old man's warning"
