Suitablility for Schools

I would like to show this for my Spanish I class, and I haven't seen it in a while. Any particular reason why it has an "R" rating?

Thanks!!

there's one scene at the end where the husband breaks the fingers of the wife by putting them in the door and then closing it
then he bashes her head against a wall

but besides that the movie is totally suitable, just the theme is a little heavy

but EXELLENT movie, don't let that little scene bother you

go see it

College or high school class--you should be fine.
Middle school or elementary--nah, probably not.

What was totally awesome about my high school film and lit class: Our teacher showed us "A Clockwork Orange." Which was completely shattering our school's rules on films (R-rated films weren't allowed to be shown in class, even the film and lit class), but the teacher was certified to teach 13 AP subjects, so it wasn't like they were going to kick her out for it.
