So my teacher made us watch this in class...
and, afterwards, come up with the plot outline for a sequel based on the somewhat open-ended finale. Here's what I came up with, I'd love to hear your feedback/thoughts. Thanks in advance.
La Historia Oficial Part Deux: ROBOT WASTELAND
Immediately following the events of La Historia Oficial, while the nation of Argentina is in ruin, a band of mercenary, super-cool robots take over and force the inhabitants into slavery. They are made to work in the spice mines, and all of their money goes to the robot king.
After leaving Roberto’s apartment in tears, that fateful, hand-crushing night, Alicia steps out into the street to begin her new life and gets hit by a Van Halen tour bus.
Anna goes on a cruise and the ship is overrun by pirates. Anna is captured, but eventually works her way up to King of the Pirates. She goes to islands and gets booty. That is, until one day, her boat (the S.S. Minnow) shipwrecks and she is the only survivor. She washes ashore the island of Eros, where she meets Don Juan, the Greatest Lover the World Has Ever Known (who is actually Benitez, the literature teacher). The booty on this island is much greater than any treasure a pirate could find. They fall in love, and she becomes his Doña Anna.
Horacio Costa turns out to be a robot spy, sent by the Robot Empire to scout out the human scum for the hostile robot takeover. There is one dramatic scene where he pulls off his human mask to reveal his silver, metallic face with killer sharp teeth. Everyone laughs at him at first and thinks “Oh Horacio that kidder” but then he starts eating heads and they don’t laugh anymore.
Gaby, her mother having just been smashed by a Van Halen tour bus, is taken in by Sra. Reballo. Sra. Reballo does not want Gaby to grow up to be a slave to the super pimp killer robots, so she teaches her to be the ultimate superweapon. Gaby learns several forms of martial arts, heavy-weapon training, and how to kill super sweet robots. She also stars in softcore pornography, which is a booming business in post-military-coups, robot-controlled Argentina.
Everyone thinks Roberto fled the country after the fall of the old government, but what they don’t know is that he has really turned into a Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Roberto. The army of robots enslaving the people is actually controlled by him, as he sits in his “Death Planet,” the center of the Robot Empire.
In the final, dramatic scene, Gaby Skywalker (we find out that’s her real name) finds her way into the Death Planet, with the intention of bringing down the Robot Empire. She is determined to bring down this Darth Roberto, whoever he is. When she finally gets to him, after some super-wicked fight scenes where she decapitates millions of stormtrooper dudes, she is surprised to find out that Darth Roberto is in fact Roberto, but not as surprised as Roberto is when she stabs him in the head. Even though he was her father, she had to sacrifice him to bring down the Robot Empire.
So Gaby is queen of the new liberal dictatorship and frees the people and at the same time oppresses them.
